在加拿大出版的《世界各地牙买加华人》收录了许多珍贵的传记和历史照片，记述了牙买加华人生活、迁徙、奋斗的历史，增进了华人之间的乡情梓谊，促进了华人社会的团结，有助于华人青年了解家史、祖籍国历史和中华文化。

　　无论过去还是现在，牙买加华人都对当地的经济发展和社会进步做出了巨大贡献。他们秉承中华民族吃苦耐劳、团结互助、重视教育的优良传统，不断开拓进取，事业蒸蒸日上。他们与当地人民和睦相处，对居住国的社会发展做出了不可磨灭的贡献，赢得了良好的声誉。
       

　　明年是第一批华人移民牙买加150周年。在恭贺本书出版的同时，请允许我代表中华人民共和国驻牙买加大使馆，向世界各地的牙买加华人华侨朋友们预致热烈的祝贺。
 
I am very delighted to write this congratulatory message on the publication of 《Jamaican Chinese Worldwide --- One Family》in Canada on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jamaica. I also would like to extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Jamaicans of Chinese descent and Chinese nationals residing in Jamaica.

Next year will mark the 150^th anniversary of the arrival of the first Chinese in Jamaica. In the past and at present, Jamaicans of Chinese descent have been making tremendous contributions to the economic development and social progress of their resident countries. They live harmoniously with the people of other ethnic groups and enjoy good reputation there. Diligence, enterprising spirit, unity, mutual help and the fine tradition of attaching importance to education have enabled Jamaican Chinese to enjoy a prosperous life and a thriving business.

The Book 《Jamaican Chinese Worldwide---One Family》collects many valuable biographies and historical pictures, featuring the hard work, immigration process and the struggle for a living of the Jamaican Chinese. I believe that this book will enhance the home feelings among Chinese, strengthen their unity and help the younger generation understand the history of their families and ancestral country and the Chinese culture at large.

I am sure all readers will find this book not only rich in historical content but also valuable for collecting purposes.
