【公共外交网讯】2024年12月22日，公共外交年度人物颁奖盛典在北京凯宾斯基酒店隆重举行，此次活动由公共外交主办，中国服务贸易协会国际交流工作委员会联合主办。来自驻华使团及社会各界的中外来宾济济一堂，活动向来自五大洲的14位外国友人授予“2024公共外交年度人物”荣誉，表彰他们为促进不同国家人民交流与合作做出的积极贡献。

On December 22, 2024, the Public Diplomacy Person Award （PDPA）Gla was held at the Kempinski Hotel in Beijing. PDPA was hosted by Public Diplomacy Network and jointly organized by the International Exchange Working Committee of the China Association for Trade in Services. Chinese and foreign guests from the diplomatic missions in China and various sectors of society gathered together. The event presented the honour of 2024 Public Diplomacy Person to 14 foreign friends from five continents, recognizing their positive contributions to promoting exchanges and cooperation among people from different countries.

来自波兰的翠花，有一个地道的中文名。翠花在中国生活了近20年，汉语流利。多年来，翠花一直致力于跨文化交流与传播，并尽其所能努力消弭文化差异带来的沟通障碍。翠花认为，向外国受众讲述中国文化，需要站在他们的视角，换位思考。她说，自己来自波兰，又非常了解中国文化，就可以更好地向世界讲述中国故事。

Justyna is a media producer and scholar, who focuses on cross-cultural communication,  and  international Communications. Justyna is a guest professor  at the Communication University of China, where she teaches Social Media Video Production. Justyna has  extensive experience in cross cultural content production and brand promotion between China and other countries.

Chiranjaya Udumullage，who is chairman of the Sri Lanka-China Federation of Economic, Educational, and Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation. Through live broadcasting, more Chinese people will learn about Sri Lanka's culture and unique products. This will strengthen China-Sri Lanka friendship through meaningful actions that will endure.

Szonja is deeply passionate about cultivating cross-cultural connections that bridge diverse communities. Over the past decade, she has witnessed and actively participated in strengthening ties between China and Europe. This relationship has flourished through many channels, including a wide array of international productions and educational initiatives, with Hungary being a focal point of these collaborations. Her work promotes cultural exchange and enriches the global dialogue through art and creativity, reflecting her commitment to fostering understanding across borders.

印度尼西亚艺术家海帝，曾多次在中国举办个人画展，用艺术链接中国和印尼人民。在第九届中国北京国际美术双年展，他的作品“抗疫”入选并在中国国家美术馆展示。今年他还荣获美国加州UIPM（University International Profesional Management/国际专业管理大学）艺术和绘画科学研究计划荣誉博士学位。

Indonesian artist Mas Hedi Suryatna has held several solo art exhibitions in China. Through arts he was connecting the people of Indonesia and China. At the 9th China Beijing International Art Biennial, his work "Anti epidemic" was selected and exhibited at the National Art Museum of China. This year, he received an honorary doctorate from UIPM (University International Professional Management) California USA with a study program in Art and Painting Science.

Nertila Sinameta comes from Italy and is currently a lecturer in the Italian Department of the University of International Business and Economics. She specializes in Sino Italian translation and has lived in Beijing for 8 years. She is an expert in Sino Italian cultural exchange.

津巴布韦媒体人王艳晨，积极宣传促进中非民间友谊，并以参与体育运动的形式推动社区互动和国际交流。她在获奖感言中特别提到媒体的重要性，她认为媒体是喉舌，负责信息的传播。她认可建立友谊、不断培养相互尊重和理解的人与人之间的互动，并希望推动中国、津巴布韦和整个非洲在足球、国际象棋、乒乓球、游泳、武术等方面有更多的体育交流。她表示愿继续为更好地开展中非合作而努力。

As a media person and television presenter, Melody Zekey Pand was from Zimbabwe. She was fostering Africa-China people-to-people relations through media, involved in sports as a medium of community interactions and international exchanges. She specifically mentioned the importance of the media, believing that it is the mouthpiece responsible for disseminating information. She recognizes the importance of building friendships, continuously cultivating mutual respect and understanding in interpersonal interactions, and hopes to promote more sports exchanges between China, Zimbabwe, and the entire Africa in areas such as football, chess, table tennis, swimming, and martial arts. She expressed her willingness to continue working towards better cooperation between Africa and China.

潘阿里出生于西班牙马德里。从小就对东方文化和中国哲学产生浓厚兴趣，上大学时开始练习武术。他曾在马德里学习经济学，并在私营公司、银行、大学和西撒哈拉难民营的国际合作机构工作过几年。2009 年他来到北京，在西班牙驻华使馆工作，并更加爱上了中国的语言和文化，从此决定留下来。2010 年至 2018 年，他在不同的学校担任西班牙语教师。2018 年，开始在中国媒体工作，包括中央电视台和中国网等，担任新闻翻译和主持人。他对于中国文化有较深刻的理解和研究。他曾表示：“我的人生使命是继续向西班牙语国家介绍美丽迷人的中国语言和文化。”

Álvaro Paños Cubillo was born in Madrid, Spain. He have had a strong interest in Eastern culture and Chinese philosophy since childhood, and started practicing martial arts in college. He studied economics in Madrid and worked for several years in private companies, banks, universities, and international cooperation organizations in Western Sahara refugee camps. In 2009, he came to Beijing to work at the Spanish Embassy in China and fell even more in love with Chinese language and culture, thus deciding to stay. From 2010 to 2018, he worked as a Spanish teacher in different schools. In 2018, he started working in Chinese media, including CCTV and China net, as a news translator and host. He has a profound understanding and research on Chinese culture. He once said, "My life mission is to continue introducing the beautiful and charming Chinese language and culture to Spanish speaking countries.”

Nabhasporn Bhuttarichval from Thailand is unable to attend the event that evening due to being in Thailand. She participated in the event via video and expressed her continued commitment to promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Thailand in various fields, enhancing mutual understanding and friendly relations between the Chinese and Thai people, and contributing to the next 50 years of closer relations between China and Thailand.

Lucas Bethencourt Walch is from Uruguay and holds a degree in International Relations, as well as an undergraduate degree from Beijing Language and Culture University. It's specially remarkable that Lucas was part of the team who assisted the President Uruguay Luis Lacalle Pou in his 2023 visit to China. And he is actively working to promote a strong bilateral relationship between Uruguay and China.

巴拿马人黄莎莉生长在拉美，求学于中国，由于不同的生活经历和环境，使她在中国和拉美国家的文化艺术中汲取营养，寻找融合，她的作品是多元文化的传播纽带。在中国留学期间，黄莎莉曾获得中国教育部孔子新汉学计划博士奖学金和中国政府留学生奖学金。她在中国学习创作的同时，将拉美的独特艺术语言展示给中国民众；同时也在巴拿马和其他拉美国家公益传播中国传统绘画，被中国和巴拿马政府誉为中国和拉美文化艺术交流的使者。

Sally Huang Wong, a Panamanian, grew up in Latin America and studied in China. Due to different life experiences and environments, she drew nourishment and sought integration from the cultural arts of China and Latin American countries. Her works serve as a bridge for the dissemination of diverse cultures. During her study abroad in China, Sally was awarded the Confucius New Sinology Program Doctoral Scholarship by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students. While studying and creating in China, she showcases the unique artistic language of Latin America to the Chinese people. At the same time, it also promotes traditional Chinese painting for public welfare in Panama and other Latin American countries, and is praised by the Chinese and Panamanian governments as an ambassador for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Latin America.

Mahmud Hossain Taufiqe, a Bangladeshi, made a special trip from Dhaka to Beijing to attend the event. He is a versatile practitioner of Chinese culture who has dabbled in various fields such as traditional Chinese painting, Beijing opera, Kunqu opera, and cross-talk. He is also an active promoter of economic and trade exchanges between China and Bangladesh.

约旦人欧阳丽丽，在十年前第一次接触中文时就立志投身于中国与阿拉伯世界的文化沟通工作。她曾就读北京大学传播学（中文）专业。研究生毕业后，作为中国外交部的认证记者在中阿卫视北京分部和CGTN担任记者主持人，参与了新中国成立70周年大阅兵、北京冬奥会等重大事件的报道

Leen Aslan, a Jordanian, aspired to devote herself to cultural communication between the Arab world and China when she first came into contact with Chinese ten years ago. She studied communication (Chinese) at Peking University. After graduating, as a certified journalist of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she served as a reporter host at the Beijing branch of China Arab TV and CGTN, and participated in reporting on major events such as the 70th anniversary parade of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

“国之交在民相亲”，公共外交年度人物颁奖盛典，旨在以民间视角甄选并表彰对促进人民友谊与合作做出积极贡献的友好人士。活动上，驻华使节作为颁奖嘉宾宣读颁奖词并为获奖人颁发奖杯和证书。2024公共外交年度人物的获得者发表获奖感言，对活动主办方表示感谢，并期待为促进中外友好交流、国际人文合作和世界人民民心相通继续贡献力量。活动还安排了丰富多彩的文化演出和互动抽奖环节。两百余位中外来宾欢聚一堂，把酒言欢，畅叙友谊，共同希冀2025年的到来。

People-to-people friendship holds the key to state-to-state relations. PAPA aims to prize the person who has made positive contributions to promoting friendship and cooperation among different nations and cultures. At the event, the Ambassadors and diplomats as the award presenter, revealed the names of the winners, read out the award speech, and presented them with trophies and certificates. The winners of 2024 PDPA delivered the speeches expressing gratitude to the organizers of the event and looking forward to continuing to contribute to promoting friendly exchanges between countries, enhancing international cultural cooperation, and pushing forward people to people exchanges. The event also arranged a variety of cultural performances and interactive lottery activities. More than 200 Chinese and foreign guests gathered together, drinking and chatting happily, reminiscing about friendship, and jointly hoping for the arrival of 2025.
